One trip, two rail passes?

We plan to use a German railpass for some of our trip, and a Swiss Pass for some. One of our legs is from Munich to Interlaken so it will involve both passes. The second leg of the trip is from Karlsruhe to Interlaken. Do we just show both passes to the conductor on that train? Can I still reserve the train using two passes? Thanks.

As a fellow Texan, I'm going to bump this thread to the top because someone has the answer for you. My answer is that you probably don't need a German rail pass; a Swiss pass is another matter.

Thanks Eileen. You are right, we are not set on the German pass as it may not be worthwhile.
