One online ticket for two persons

Hi There - I plan to purchase one online ticket Berlin -Bruxelles for two persons (me and my colleague) using my credit card. So I will have one online ticket for two persons
Is it ok to board train successfully for my colleague or he must buy ticket using his own credit card?

When you but the tickets, you don't buy one ticket for two...you buy two tickets. Online tickets need to be printed out either at home (if this available) or picked up a the train station in Berlin.) You will need your confirmation number and the credit card you used.

You can buy both tickets with your credit card...but both of you must have a ticket.

Every ticket I have ever bought in Germany while traveling with my wife has been a single ticket printed for "2 Erw." (two adults). I am looking right now at a Dauer-Spezial ticket I used last year in Germany, and again it says "1 Erw." Why would they bother to print "1 adult" on the ticket if every adult had to have a separate ticket?

Certainly someone here has bought an online ticket for two and knows the answer.

Then if it says "2 adults" then 2 adults can travel. Either way, Sergey can pay for it. However, the two must travel together. With two separate tickets, they are able to either travel together or separately.

I agree, Frank, although there are some cases where having two (or more) names on a ticket can be better than one. A Dauer-Spezial Familie ticket starts at €49 for two on a ticket rather than €29 each. A Schoenes-Wochenende-Ticket with two names means that the additional co-travelers (Mitfahrer) pay half of the first fare. When I was just becoming familiar with German Rail, the second (through fifth) person on any ticket paid half price, but they don't do that any more.

Hi!

Thanks for help!

Actualy we are going to travel together so as I understood I can buy one online ticket for two persons. The reason why we want to buy one online ticket, is that reservation system will book two seats at once and will not have gaps in numbering (at least will be located in one vagon). If we will try to buy tickets separatly even at one time, than I think that system can book tickets in separate vagons.
