One more question

I have booked all of my train tickets ( except from Salzburg to Venice ). However, is it necessary to buy tickets from Munich's Airport to our hotel, and from our hotel to Dachau? I'm thinking these are more local trains, so would I just wait until I get there to purchase these tickets?

Yes, just purchase them when you arrive. You will use the S-bahn and local buses to get to Dachau, and the S-Bahn to get from the airport to Munich train station, then probably the U-Bahn to your hotel. It's no different than buying a ticket for the subway in NYC or Chicago, etc.

Both of these trips are within the local transit district (MVV). I don't believe you can buy those tickets online, nor do you need to. At the airport, use a ticket automat to buy €6,60 per person single trip tickets from the airport into downtown. The ticket will cover not only the S-Bahn from the airport but all of your travel by other means (S-/U-Bahn, streetcars, or buses) to your hotel as long as you proceed directly to it. You can also buy the tickets at a counter with the MVV symbol. If there are more than two of you, and/or you want to use the transit after arriving at your hotel, purchase a Partner Gesamtnetz Tageskarte (up to five people, entire network, day pass) for €18.

For sightseeing on other days for anywhere around downtown Munich, purchase an MVV Partner Innerraum Tageskarte. It covers all forms of transit in all of the inner zone, which contains everything you might want to see except Dachau, for an entire day.

On the day you go to Dachau, Purchase the Munich XXL Partner Tageskarte. That pass covers up to five of you in the inner TWO zones, which includes Dachau. Take the S2, Richtung (direction) Petershausen, and get off at the Dachau station. The bus stops are in front of the station. Take the 726 bus to the memorial.
