One hour from Florence?

I need to know what towns are only one hour from Florence. Thanks! Bus or train okay. Not driving.
THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES. Now I need to divulge more specific info. I'm not a tourist. My son in law teaches art in Florence so I want to find a place I can afford to buy. Of course that won't be in Florence. So I need to find smaller towns that are one hour away from Florence with train/bus service.

Thank you, Sam. I thought those cities were much farther away time-wise. How can I see a list of smaller towns in between where trains stop? Thanks again, Cecilia

The question is somewhat backwards. First, what towns do you want to visit, and next, how long does it take to get there? Bologna is a long way away, but it is connected by a nonstop high speed train running on a dedicated high speed track, so it takes only 38 minutes.

Do a Google image search of Italian train map, so you can have a general idea which direction trains go from Florence.

If you want to know the stops between end points on a train route, you can go to www.trenitalia.com and enter Florence - use the Italian spelling - Firenze. And add Perugia, for instance. Then pick one of the times, Click on the “Dettagli”, and it will show each town stop and at what time. For example, Arezzo is exactly one hour from Florence.

Bologna is 37 minutes. Train
Ferrara is 67 minutes. Train
Montecatini Terme is 50 minutes. Train
Arezzo is 60 minutes. Train
Siena is 75 minutes. Bus
(Pisa is 2 hours, 12 min. Train)

Pisa is 2 hours, 12 min. Train

Sorry, but the Regionale Veloce departing Firenze S.M.N. at 8:28 am, arrives Pisa Centrale at 9:28 am, exactly 1 hour.

You can catch the bus to Siena out the side door of the Florence train station. Thebuses line up to the right of McDonalds and around the block behind the building.

The bus takes you into the center city where a train ride will put you off out on the edge of town.

Pisa is an hour by train. Bologna is also about an hour.

Oops, Sam is correct. Pisa is within your requested one-hour time.

I would suggest you take a look at Lucca to start - just a bit longer by train than your requested one hour. However, there are a number of towns along that same rail line that might suit, especially if you're looking for a more reasonable purchase price. Having just been in Lucca, I would try to locate there.

Start a purchase on the Trenitalia app and then look at Details, then Services and Stops - it will list all of the towns on the line.
