One final note.........

I'm the person who had to cancel a trip to Ireland at the last minute due to the illness of my mother a few weeks ago.

I notified Trinity College dorms and Railtours about the cancellations within the limits to get a full refund.

It was multiple nts at Trinity and a 4 day trip with railtours for two people.

Total credits have now been posted to my VISA, but I got almost $60 more back than I had paid. I guess I did pretty well with the dollar/Euro fluctuations!

Now I can start planning for next year.................

Wow, sounds like you made out well! But there's a lesson in that for everyone as well -- don't assume that a refund will be the same amount as you actually paid. The dollar amount might have been less if the fluctuation had gone the other way. Glad you had no problems getting the refund in any case, and be sure and let us know when you start planning again!
