I'd like to visit my sweetheart in Germany in April or May without flying. Cost is a big factor in my going or not. I am in Oregon ,can get East coast by train. What ocean vessel options are there? Thanks

Fly. You will (a) spend less, (b) get there faster, and (c) have a smaller carbon footprint. Seems like this question is Deja vu all over again. Do you remember posting it a month ago? Mark, There is a way you can fly and ease your conscience about the carbon footprint. You can pay into a carbon offsetting scheme. British Air has a program available, for example: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/csr-your-footprint/public/en_gb If you google carbon offset schemes you will find some other options. Good luck.
