OBB train questions from Salzburg to Munich

First time Europe train traveler so I've got some very basic questions:

I purchased a standard ticket with no restrictions to specific train - fully flexible. Had planned to use on a Friday and now must use on a Sunday. I'm getting conflicting info on whether this ticket is good for just 2 days (in which case I'll need new tickets) OR since the ticket also says International / TEE its subject to International fare rules which provide like a week to use - anyone able to provide some insight?

Also, web site did not allow for seat reservations - is it possible to do so when we get to the station? OR as this is a relatively short ride so most seats will be available like first come first served?

Lastly, given the full flexible nature of this ticket - we can just pick a train / time that's convenient at that time and just board and go?

Thanks do much!

Is this a Railjet train? How much money are we talking about? There are cheap tickets offered by Meridian trains. They are slower than the Railjet or ICE trains, but you don't need a reservation and you can buy at the station. If it is fully flexible with no reservation, I would think you could exchange it at any Austrian station.

Did you buy the ticket from OeBB or from the Bahn?

What is you destination in Munich? The RailJet goes only from Salzburg to the Munich Hbf. Sometimes, if, for instance, you are going to the airport, Ostbahnhof is a better connection point, but RailJet does not stop at Ostbahnhof (EC/ICs and Meridian do). Also, if your accommodations are the Old Town, Ost is usually a better connection point.

Our destination in Munich is the train station - we are staying nearby for a few days.
