OBB Question

I'll be in Vienna next month and I'm thinking of buying tickets to Salzburg using the OBB website. Will I be able to print them online at home as opposed to having to download their app?

I have been able to print them out in the past. I remember the website giving a caveat that
tickets printed out would no longer be able to be refunded for whatever reason.

Not sure if you buy them on a site like trainline, whether you'd get the same caveat.

You can also buy them now, get a confirmation #, and print them out at an OBB station in
Vienna upon arrival.

Be certain you are on the rail ÖBB site (www.oebb.at) and not on one of the fake OBB sites that Rail Ninja set up.

One tip with ÖBB: You cannot cancel a ticket anymore once you have downloaded the PDF (even if the tariff allows it). So normally I would wait till as close to my travel date as possible before downloading it. That also means that using the App is in fact preferable.

Hi Russ. If you will have a phone or tablet with you on the train, then no need for the app; also no need to print your tix at all. Just download and save the PDF of your tickets to your device. Then just show the saved tix / QR code to the conductor; they will scan the QR code. Have a great trip!
