So last year we just parked at O'Hare no problems. This year there is less parking and it says no available spots in the economy lots?? I tried to put a reservation in for the parking, flying out this Friday, but it won't accept if its longer than 14 days and we will be gone 19 days. Can anyone help with this confusing parking situation? It just seems like they took flyer parking and gave it to employees without making more passenger parking. Thanks for any help!
If you want to avoid the hassle of parking altogether, this is the car service I use to get to and from O’hare.
I’m not sure how the cost compares to parking at the airport, but after a long flight home, it sure is nice not to worry about driving.
Unless you are traveling from beyond the Chicago area, I'd also recommend a car service (I use Napeville taxi or Uber). If that isn't feasible, use one of the off-site park and rides.
O'hare parking is equal parts expensive and annoying.
We are actually coming from Madison, WI so unfortunately car services are not an option.
Have you looked into nearby hotels that offer long-term parking? I've never needed to do that at O'Hare but airport hotels in Seattle, Boston and San Francisco have that option. You then shuttle to the airport with the hotel. You don't have to spend the night but it's cheaper if you do (of course you're making up for it with the hotel room).
Trotter - I will look into that option. Hopefully it is without needing to rent a room. I just can't believe the only available parking would cost us $1000.00 for our trip because there isn't enough economy. I mean, where do they think people are going to park?
This is an option. I have done this from Madison to O'Hare. Round trip is only $62 per person. Leaves from campus and from Dutch Mill Park and Ride off the Beltline and 51. Edited: $62.00 round trip, but still very reasonable from Madison.
Ok, so I've found lot parking rentals with shuttles to the airport all around O'Hare. Anybody use one there that they can recommend over the others?
Threadwear - yes, we have done Van Galder as well. With 3 of us we were hoping to park as the busses can get very crowded, especially on the way back. It is definitely an option.
I've used this place in the past for extended trips. Excellent service.

The car service I recommended above has service to/from Madison:

You mentioned that you found parking with shuttles.
You must mean the remote parking: Lots F, G and H. A couple years ago, I parked in one of those for a week when I went to Asia. Make sure to take the "airport transit system", i.e., the People Mover, from whichever remote garage you choose. The People Mover will take you directly to your terminal.
Part of the reason why everything is screwed up is because of -- guess what? -- a new parking garage. A new garage is being built for the International Terminal.
I think reserve parking is only in the main garage and that is $42.00 a day!!! You should not have trouble finding parking in lots F ($22), G ($15) and H ($15) and taking a bus to the MMF it is called, where you board a train that will take you to terminal 5, International.
You might check into park, sleep, fly deals at hotels. Some hotels will offer free parking if you stay a night at the beginning or end of your trip. This can sometimes be cheaper than paying for parking alone at the airport.

Thank-you all, after much searching and figuring out prices etc... we are staying in a hotel the night before that has a shuttle to the airport and will let us keep our car there.
Threadeare - those lots are exactly where I can't get parking. It says they are all booked up for my dates
I think you are confusing the fact that remote parking does have a some reserve spaces, but the remote parking lots are mostly open parking. Anyway, sounds like you have a good plan in getting a hotel /room parking. Enjoy your trip.
It sounds like the OP is all set, but for others I wanted to add my experience from last summer. I arrived at the economy lots in June planning to park long term, but they were all full. The airport authority handed out parking vouchers for the daily lots to reduce the rate to the economy rate. So we got to park closer in and still pay the distance rate. It definitely worked out for us.
