O'Hare connecting flights

Is 41 minutes enough time to connect between flights with United Airlines....I have looked at O'Hare website.....United uses Terminal 1 and 2....thanks!

It is with the usual comment, " If you flight is on time." The two terminals are side by side connected underground with moving walkways.

Don't foget to factor in the time it takes for everyone sitting in front of you to de-plane.

Every flight I've ever had into or out of O'Hare has had delays...I have a family member who flies in and out of Chicago and other cities multiple days a week for work and he claims the Chicago airports are least likely to run on time.

Also this report from October 2014 seems to agree, stating that 1 in every 4 flights through O'Hare is delayed:

And here's CNN Money's report. They also rank O'Hare as 4th worst in the U.S. for on-time travel.

Based on this, I'd say 41 minutes is probably not enough. :)

I would agree, O'Hare is generally a mess even when the weather is not causing problems. 41 minutes in other airports located on this side of insanity might be a more manageable risk, but not O'Hare.

I have connected through O'Hare many times, and I wouldn't risk it in 41 minutes! I usually try to have 2 hours for a connection at O'Hare.

I doubt it - unless you want to run for your life to the next gate. But, on the other hand, there's a good chance the connecting flight will leave late. Never had a good experience in O'hare, except for the wonderful food options which almost make it worthwhile (well....maybe)

I assume you're flying all the way on the same airline--not booking two different airlines.

It depends of you're flying through ORD flying to Europe. Or, if you're flying through ORD flying home.

I'd do it if flying home, as they can always book put on the next available flight home if you miss the first flight.

I wouldn't cut it so short if you're flying out of the country as the next flight may be tomorrow.

ORD is a huge operation, however weather is a chronic problem for them. Come to think of it, I once sat on the runway there for 3-4 hours even on a decent weather day. It's not the most efficient airport.

O'Hare is a 2 hour connection minimum airport in the summer in my opinion. In the winter I would count on nothing less than 3 hours! I have spent many hours waiting for the next flight to SEATAC after missing a less than 2 hour connecting flight at O'Hare. Buyer beware, good luck, or find something a little more accommodating, at least 90 minutes.

You need a longer connection time. Unless you're good at a sprint!
