Liz, I agree it's disappointing! I was excited to see us getting more of them.

Yes, Delta flies to London. Delta, I believe, flies to more international destinations that any other U.S. airlines. (Has to do with the fact they bought Pan Am in the 1980's.)

But not, as far as I know, nonstop from Seattle. I believe this now leaves British Airways as the only SEA-LHR direct flight.

We were supposed to be on the NW LHR-SEA returning home, but they created a scheduling conflict when they moved the flight to earlier in the day. Now we will be flying through AMS both directions. Still, it's a bit disappointing to lose a direct flight to Europe from SEA.

Cate, I at least am happy in that LHR is probably the worst place to fly through and with Lufthansa's nonstop to Frankfurt and NW's nonstop to Amsterdam, we still have choices. Now if only they would develop a nonstop to Italy!!

We used to take SAS to Europe (direct to Copenhagen) and then connecting and liked them then but their prices seem really high now.

John, good to hear about the Lufthansa flight- we are taking it in December! : )

That's really too bad, but unfortunately all too predictable given the economy. I flew them this past June on an incredible fare (under 700 including all taxes and surcharges) and the flight was still not full.

So...non-stop choices in Seattle are now BA to London, Air France to Paris, Lufthansa to Frankfurt, NW/KLM to Amsterdam, and SAS to Copenhagen. Let's hope that NW-Delta doesn't end the Amsterdam non-stop; that would be a real loss.
