Hello, I will be traveling from Nuremberg, Germany to Warsaw, Poland. I had planned on taking the train, but it appears to be sold out of the dates I need. I have looked on bahn.de and polrail.com. I will need to travel on either Monday March 11 or Tuesday March 12. I am flexible on how we will travel (I will be with my husband) but it needs to be on one of these two dates. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I would appreciate it. Thank you,
Lana
I just checked and it does not appear to be sold out. There are several options. I checked the train which leaves Nuernberg at 8:39 am with one change in Berlin. Savings price 89 Euro right now. It's not likely that you would not be able to get on those dates to Warsaw. There are many options.
Lana, You are reading the bahn.de site incorrectly. No trains are sold out. And they likely won't be even if you buy your ticket on the day you leave Nuernberg (Nuremberg). However, if you book today on bahn.de, you can get a discount fare. The site says that because of construction work, you may miss your connecting train in Berlin if you schedule too short a connection time. I suggest that you play it safe and book ICE 1612 which leaves Nuernberg at 07:01 and arrivea in Berlin at 12:08. Book EC 45 which leaves Berlin at 13:37 and arrives in Warsaw at 19:05. To book both legs on one ticket and get the best discount fare still available you need to build in a stopover of one hour. On the home page enter Nuernberg as your departure point and Warszawa as your arrival point. Enter a departure time of 07:00. Then click on "Further search options." You'll be taken to a new page where you can click on "Enter stopovers." Enter Berlin as the stopover point with a stopover time of 1:00. Then click on "Search." For 11 March the lowest fare still available for the times I've given you is €59.00. For 12 March the lowest fare still available for those times is €39.00.
