Nuremberg (NURNBERG) Bahnhof - Has anyone here ever been there? I need to get off a train in Nurnberg and then I have about 15 minutes to find the Bahnhofvorplatz to get on my bus.
My local Bahnhof rep. didn't know where the Bahnhofvorplatz is - so she was of little help - she said the thought it might be out the front of the bahnhof. Anyone here know for sure? I am afraid that there might be a line for the service desk when I get there and I will end up missing my bus. Any help would be great - Thanks!
Bus to Where???? We were there last December. Right out side the center entrance, there is a slightly curve driveway with several bus pick up points. There are poles with signs on then indication the bus. That is the best with your limited information.
Frank, Thank you for replying. We are to take a Bahnhof bus to Prague. I do know the bus number but not where to find it.
When you arrived in Nurnberg, how did you go to get to the buses you saw? Is it a long walk? Thanks again, Patty

See my posting under -- Nurenburg to Prague, 2/3/2011,at 10:28 pm under TO THE WEST heading.
What works really well for me when I am not sure of where things are in a city, is to go to Google Earth Street View and look at the location. This gives me an excellent view and lets me see just exactly where things are and how to get there. Give it a try.
There are three tunnels connecting the platforms at Nürnberg Hbf. The middle tunnel empties into the Bahnhof building and out to the front. That's the Hauptausgang (main exit) to the Bahnhofvorplatz. The bus to Prague is just to your right as you exit. As long as you don't dally, 15 min is plenty of time. BTW, what is a "local Bahnhof rep." They obviously can't speak German. I don't speak a lot, but I knew immediately what "Bahnhofvorplatz" must be. The Germans use the word all the time for the place (Platz) in front of (vor) the station (Bahnhof).
If the train is on time (very probably in Germany) you will make it. Just get off the station two steps and look to the left. Bus is there just few steps from you. It's a big double decker bus. It has a sign on it which says I think Express Praha. I was also asking people in the station including employees where the bus was leaving from, nobody knew. But is right there in front of the station entrance, you cannot miss it.
Possibly this map will help.
Thank you, Lee, by looking at the map I can see that we obviously got out by Ostausgang.
Just so you don't go out the Ostausgang, look for the large letter signs over the platforms. The stairs to the middle tunnel are almost under the 'D' sign, just towards the 'C' side.
- The Bahnhofvorplatz was right in front of the center of the bahnhof - where all the taxi's are located. One taxi driver tried to lead us away and down a city block but thanks to all of your advice I went with what you said and we made it to our bus on time. Thank you all for taking the time to reply.
We had a great time in Prague and Kunta Hora.
