Novice needs help with train

We are planning to go from Lake Como in Italy to the Berner Oberland and spend about 5 days in Switzerland. What is the best way to get there? Is there a direct connection between the two destinations? Much appreciated.

Top,

That's not a difficult trip. It would help to know which town on Lago di Como you'll be starting your journey from?

For example, if you're travelling from Varenna there's a train departing at 08:37, arriving Interlaken Ost at 14:28 (time 5H:51M, 2 changes in Milano and Spiez, reservations compulsory for some legs). There's an earlier train departing at 05:36 that's about an hour shorter in travel time. Which train to choose will depend on what departure time you want and the travel time.

Once you arrive at Interlaken, you can get from there to whichever part of the Berner Oberland you want to visit. Which town are you planning to stay in?
