It seems like there are more and more of these all the time. Air France started in June, Lufthansa begins in March, and Northwest starts up in June of 2008. Good news for us Seattleites!

Should be great for many of the airlines in the near future. This is due to new US / EU agreement called "Open Skies" - Heathrow was the first airport to be expanded for US airlines to expand landings there. Eventually you should see even more interesting airline competition to Europe when for example Lufthansa can begin flying non-stop from Paris to the US (thus eliminating a return to Frankfurt).
So great news to come - with hopefully great prices.
It's nice to see all those direct European flights to Seattle! All I need now is for the dollar to gain strength and someone to fly straight into Spain!
Steve, it would be nice but you will go gray waiting. Every fed rate decline just puts more pressure on the downward dollar.
Where will the Lufthansa flight go? Frankfurt?
Portland Intl. (PDX) is also picking up a NW nonstop to Amsterdam in March and we're hearing word about a possible one to Heathrow by Virgin Atlantic or BA.
As for Seattle, good to see BA get some competition on that route, probably will drop prices.
