My wife and I will be in Europe the last week in July and the first week in August. We have traveled numerous times in Europe and have always rented a car. This time we will be using trains. We only have two legs of our journey using trains, Amsterdam to Bruges and Bruges to Paris. Not enough to use a rail pass. My question is do we need to pre-purchase our train tickets for these train trips or just buy them at the train stations on the days of our train travel? Another question is if we purchase these tickets at home, do we actually print out the ticket or receive a voucher? Please advise, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Get your Thalys tickets (Amsterdam to Brussel Zuid/Bruxelles Midi or Amsterdam to Antwerpen, local trains beyond) and (Brussel Zuid/Bruxelles Midi to Paris gare du Nord, local train from Brugge to Brussel) TODAY as the price will only go up and be highest on the day of travel, if available.

You have probably missed the cheapest tickets but get what you can. Check several trains each day, there are peaks and troughs depending on individual train loading. If you can go way off peak times, very early or very late in the day you may find cheaper prices
