Non-Sunday train between Rome and Pompeii Scavi?

We will be traveling to Rome soon and want to take a day trip to Pompeii. I read the recommendations re taking a fast non-stop train on Sunday (Frecciarossa1000 9693), but when I checked, it didn't appear to be available on the Sunday that we'll be there.
Instead, I booked something that looked very similar, on a Friday:

(Frecciarossa 1503) Roma Termini (8:05AM Dep) -> Napoli Afragola (9:05AM Arr), then (FrecciaLink LK031) Napoli Afragola (9:26AM Dep) -> POMPEI SCAVI (10:01AM Arr).

Then the same route back in the evening.

It looks very comparable to the Sunday direct train, but no one is talking about it, so I'm concerned I'm missing something.
Will this get us to the right location? Am I missing anything?

Thank you.

Its possible no one is talking about it because the Freccialink is a bus service, not a train. Most people doing a day trip from Rome to Pompeii take the Freccia to Napoli Centrale, then the Circumvesuviana train to the Pompei Scavi station. The Circumvesuviana is a local commuter train. You just buy your ticket at the station, which is on the lower level under Centrale. Either way will get you there.

What date are you looking to travel? There is a no-changes train at 8:53 from Roma Termini to the Pompei FS station (note the single i) on Sundays. That station is not the Pompei Scavi-Villa dei Misteri Circumvesuviana station that's right in front of the scavi; it's about a mile away. Visitors are shuttled from Pompei station to the scavi by autobus or you can walk it .

Total journey time is 2 hrs, 12 minutes if using the autolink bus.

If you're interested in the direct train mentioned above, using the Amphitheater (Piazza Immacolata) entrance, the Pompei FS station is actually pretty close to that entrance to the archelogical site, about half a mile.
