Night trains between Rome and Vienna

Can any give me advise about the night train traveling between Rome and Vienna? Should I book a sleeper car or couchette? I will be traveliong with my 60-70ish in-laws and parents as well as a 14 year old and want to know what would be best for them. I could sleep any where but they are nervous. Please give me any insight you can. Thanks

Christine - Do I understand that you are traveling with a total of 6 people? If that is the case I would reserve 1 - 4 bed compartment and 1 - 2 bed sleeper car. I would give the 2 bed sleeper to the parents or in-laws that would want the extra room or privacy. The 6 bed couchette could be very difficult for the 70 year olds to manage. There is not much space in the compartments.

I would definitely reserve a sleeper. I am 66 and do want to be comfortable when trying to sleep. You all will enjoy the privacy and security.

I know many of you must think I have an interest in or work for PacSafe.....but I don't. I would recommend checking into the following. TSA locks should be on all baggage openings including day or regular back packs.

Here is a link for PacSafe products. Check the day back packs and the Cable Locks. With the long cable lock one can lock all bags together in the event it is necessary.

These items are slashproof, tamperproof and snatchproof....the only way to travel.

Call RailEurope. They can give you the rates for each situation and even make the reservations for you--with your credit card #, of course.
