I am traveling from Prague to Krakow and Krakow to Budapest via night train with a global pass. I noticed on the Rail Europe that a 3 person sleeper is $39 for pass holders. Can I pay for my sleeper through Rail Europe without having a rail pass that covers all countries? I would pay for the countries not included while I am in Europe.
Yes, you certainly can do that. Just click the "I have a rail pass" option on the raileurope.ca website and it will go ahead and book it. Once you are in Europe, you can buy a ticket(s) to cover the distances you do not have a pass for. Just go to a ticket window, and ask to have a ticket from whichever city to the border.
Just to let you know, some people on these forums have called the Deutsche Bahn directly and usually say they get better rates on reservations, but that sounds like a pretty good rate that you quoted anyways.
Thanks for the quick reply! I will book it now.
