night train information Florence-Paris

after some discussion I managed to get my partner to agree to the night train...woo hoo....so we will book the first class cabin for comfort which I believe is the best.
Are the night trains bookable through the German Call center as well as Rail Europe?

Yes, you can book this train by phoning the DB call centre.

I just wanted to point out that I have found tickets to be MUCH MUCH cheaper when bought through SNCF (the French Nat'l rail co.) rather than Rail Europe. I don't know if the same goes for the Deutsche Bahn.

I purchased tickets for 2 in second class on the Paris - Florence route for late May and paid just 35 euros each for them on the SNCF website. It would definitely be worth checking into that and trenitalia.it

It might be slightly more difficult than using Rail Europe, but it gives you another authentic Euro-experience when you go to the station to retrieve the tickets.

Geoffrie,

The problem is that bluedenim is departing from Florence, not Paris. The Trenitalia site currently does not accept North American credit cards.

another question in looking at rail europe there are two categories
one says it has three beds the other two beds

Does this mean that someone else will be sharing in the 3 bed compartment???

Unless you book all three beds in a 3-bed sleeper, everyone in the sleeper must be of the same sex and sharing the cabin with a third party will be required if the bed is needed. If you and your partner book a 2-bed sleeper, then sharing is obviously not an issue.
