Hi. I'm trying to buy two tickets on the City Night Line train from Zagreb to Munich in October. I'm trying to reserve a sleeping car but cannot do it from the Deutsche Bahn website. Is there a way to reserve the cabin from the US?? Also, do you think it's necessary to book the tickets online or can I buy them in Germany? We'll be in Munich in the beginning of October and don't need the tickets back until the last week. Thanks

Since you will be in Munich early in October, it probably will be safe to buy your tickets when you get there. However, night trains do tend to sell out. Even though you'll pay a little more, if you want peace of mind, buy your tickets now on the Rail Europe site.

If you'll be up the creek if you can't get on that night train, or want a nicer compartment, book it now through Rail Europe. Yes they charge a fee, but that's the cost of piece of mind. Otherwise, you can do it in person once in Germany.
