Night train from Venice to Munich?

Heading to Italy soon and am planning to take the night train from Venice to Munich - any info on booking, time, etc? I've got the RS Italy guidebook, but would like some first-hand experience/anecdotes. Thanks in advance!

Just this, for the best prices book online from the German Rail website, and book as far in advance as you can. The best discount fares go on sale 92 day in advance, and fares increase as travel time approaches. Plus the best accommodations often sell out a month or more before travel time.

I took the train from Bologna to Munich a few years ago (I think its the same line you're talking but not sure) and would happily do it again. Book as far in advance as you can to get the cheap fares. I'm a light sleeper, and the lights of the stations we went thru flashing in the windows (even with curtain closed) was a bit distracting, but one Ambien and I slept fine all the way thru. On that trip I didn't get the room with the shower in the room; on another night train trip I did and would recommend that if the cost isn't too high.

John, that night train was probably the City Night Line (CNL) 485. It goes between Munich and Verona, with branches going from Verona to Rome (via Bologna and Florence), to Milan, and to Venice.
