I want to take a night train from Rome to Paris on our trip thinking that I can enjoy a full day at Rome and then take the night train to Paris....Need help on finding a good night train and to know if they are safe..
thanks
There's only one direct night train that does this route. Departs Rome termini station at 6:10pm and arrives at Paris Bercy Station at 9:16am. Private sleepers on night train sell out fast, so it's important to book ahead of time. The most convenient site to purchase tickets for this train is http://www.raileurope.com
Only use Rail Europe to book this night night train, for regular inter-city trains during the day you can simply purchase your tickets at the station on the day of your journey.
I don't know how much the night train costs, however, both Easyjet and Airberlin fly cheap and regularly to both Cdg and Orly from Rome.
When I took the night train fro Rome to Paris, I requested the upper bed and kept my bag at the head of my bed. I always do that when I am on a night train.
I agree that you should book in advance. I was in Rome in May and was able to book, but had to stay in Rome an extra night.
