We will be in Nice the end of October or the first of November (dates aren't in stone yet) and want to get to Rome via the night train. Is there still a night train that runs nightly and what is the best way to make reservations for that? Thanks!!

I don't see a night train from Nice to Rome. However, there is a run that requires a train change in Genoa and the Genoa/Rome leg is a night train. Less than 6hrs on the train with sleepers.

I can't seem to find the Genoa to Rome night train either.... where did you that it was available? Thanks!!

The night train in question, EX 809, leaves Genova Piazza Principe at 23:53 and arrives at Roma Termini at 05:58. Go here for summary timetables for Nice-Roma and then click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points.
Before 15 June the timetables listed a Nice-Rome night train and a Nice-Venice night train. Since the new timetables went into effect, both of those trains are no longer listed. Apparently the rumor that those trains were going to be discontinued has turned out to be true.
