Hello! I would like to take the night train from Munich to Vienna this Sunday (7/22/07) evening but don't have a reservation. Does anyone know if I can purchase a ticket while I am there or is it better to purchase in advance? I looked on www.bahn.de but the only delivery method was mail and I am leaving for Europe this Friday. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Although I found night train accommodation still available for EN 269 from Munich on July 22 to Vienna, night trains often sell out by departure time. If you are committed to that date, go to http://buchung.nachtzugreise.de and you can book accommodations on that train for no more than it would cost over there. They will send you a pdf file of the ticket which you can print on you home printer. I found SparNight savings fares for one person in a double compartment for €90.
You don't get much time to sleep. The train leave Munich just before midnight and gets into Vienna before 6 AM. You might as well take a day train. You can book an afternoon (3:26 PM) EC that takes 4:12 for only €29 on the DB site and also print that ticket at home.

Thanks Lee. Unfortunately, I just found that my tickets on AirBerlin are non-refundable. For 2 people, I spent about $360 US dollars. BIG travel mistake on my part...lesson learned for not doing my research. Thanks again.
