Hello, This will be my first time traveling to europe. We really want to see croatia then end up in austria then switzerland. Is there a night train to austria or switzerland from Zagreb?

Your best bet is to search on the Deutsche Bahn website. http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml
You don't mention where in Austria you intend to end up - Salzburg, Vienna, Innsbruck or someplace else. Hence rather difficult to provide you with an answer.

If you search on Deutsche Bahn website for Zagreb to Munich, you'll find a direct night train (no changes) that departs Zagreb at 21:10 and has a stop in Salzburg at 04:28.

Hello,
I would like to end up in Salzburg. However it is more important to me to get on a night train from Zagreb to save a day. So if there is a night train to anywhere in Austria, preferably Salzburg or somewhere closer to the Swiss border as we plan to spend just a few days in Austria then the bulk of our time closer to the bern-ober region. Thank you for your help! :)

Do you know if this night train (that goes Zagreb to munich with the stop in Salzburg) is a sleeper train that we could purchase bunks/beds?
