hii am looking for the cheapest way to get from nice to valognes at the end of august. ideas? THX!

The cheapest would be to save the cost of a night in a hotel by taking the direct night train from Nice to Paris (Gare d'Austerlitz) and then trains from Paris (Gare Saint-Lazare) to Valognes. It will cost you about the same to take trains during the day and you still will have to change stations in Paris (Gare de Lyon to Gare Saint-Lazare). Give us your exact travel date and we'll tell you how to book discount fare tickets (if any are still available).

thanks! I do have a free place to stay in paris---so i appreciate your thoughts about saving money on night train--but no need. my date of arrival in nice is 8/24 at 8:30am. would like to get to valognes that day or next.

You can leave Nice at 10:35 and arrive in Valognes at 19:54. The 10:35 train arrives in Paris at 16:19. You could spend a few hours in Paris, leave at 20:45, and arrive in Valognes at 23:40. Or you could spend the night in Paris, leave for Valognes as early as 07:07, and arrive in Valognes at 09:45. If you want to have a few hours in Nice, you could fly easyJet to Orly, departing at 15:00 and arriving at 16:30. What do you want to do?
