Newark Airport in 10hr

I will pass through at Newark Airport on my way to BRU from LAX and the waiting next flight is 10hrs (in Dec). Any suggestion to do while waiting at the airport? And what should we do with our carry-on luggage? Thank you.

If you want to get out of the airport, you do have time for a short visit to Manhattan or the Iron Bound (Portuguese) section of Newark; both easily reached by frequent train service. But there is absolutely no place to store your bags either at the airport or in Manhattan. Another option is to buy a day pass at one of the airline lounges usually about 50 dollars, or reserve a "day room" at one of the airport hotels.

Whenever I have a long layover at an airport, I check out the airport's website to see what's there, understand the local transportation to locations nearby. I often will buy a day pass at my airlines "executive lounge" where I can get a light snack, drinks, relax in a comfortable chair, check email, etc. The time goes by fast in any case.

not sure if you want to relax, but you may want to check if any of the hotels rent out day rooms. I did that at LAX - there was a hotel that rented a room for the day, so I took a shower and got room service and relaxed until I needed to go back to the airport

You can take the train into NYC very easily. There are frequent trains. They go into Penn Station. From Penn station you can catch the subway to a lot of places. One idea would be to go up the Empire State Building. You could go further uptown and visit MOMA. You could go downtown and explore Greenwich Village. Tons of things to do. It depends on the time of day, the traffic and how much you want to spend. I would say it would also depend on how much energy you want to expend before you set out on a long trip.

I would look on the web site to see if there are lockers at Newark. You could also look to see if there are some in Penn Station.

One thing to note having lived in both L.A. and NYC. In December, it can be bitterly cold in the Big Apple. Be prepared. The cold winds whipping through the buildings is an experience.

Meanwhile, Here are two websites that will help you with transportation from EWR to Manhattan:

AirTrain Newark

NJ Transit: Airport Connections
