According to a recent travel bulletin, Condor Airlines will be offering direct YVR - FRA flights this year. This appears to be a new service, so introductory prices will probably be good. Condor has Interline agreements with Westjet, which increases the number of destinations possible in Canada.
At this point, I haven't seen any information on whether this service is seasonal, new on a trial basis or will continue year round.
