Just reading about ITA Airways. I guess they are replacing Alitalia. Went on the website to check prices, but find it a bit confusing.
Anyone flown them yet?

I was just on their website looking for flights to Palermo. We’re going next April. First of all, it was difficult to find the official website. Second, I had English then it was in Italian but I couldn’t get back to English. I figured out the basics from my HS Italian and plugged in the cities and dates. Choices popped up but every time I tried to pick one,I went back to the top. I clicked on the button on the bottom right, even though it was not highlighted but shaded, and got to my return flight. Couldn’t go any further. I did see though that there are direct flights from JFK to Palermo and home from Catania. That is encouraging. I also saw that the premium economy is double economy. But premium is just about 100€ less then business class. I couldn’t read or figure out the differences between the two fares but I am kinds excited and hoping we just might be able to upgrade.
In case anyone else has trouble, their official website is https://www.itaspa.com
Barbara: I had the same issues.
Badger: thanks for the direct link
We aren’t going till April so I will check back in a month to see if they improved it. If not, I will ask my travel agent to book for me.
I have had similar experience and questions. I will be on Rick's tour of Sicily in June (The 3rd time I've scheduled due to the pandemic!). Flight planning was previously easy, with multiple flight options, since I live in Delta hub city and Alitalia was a partner airline. Now I cannot book travel to/from Sicily on Delta, they just say they cannot get to/from there. And the ITA website is indeed a strange mix of English and Italian. A work in progress, I think.
Apparently there is not yet a relationship between Delta and ITA, although ITA claims to be a member of the Sky Team Alliance.
I think patience is called for while all of this get worked out. Not one of my virtues ;-)

YES! I am currently in Sicily and flew on ITA from Rome to Palermo. Their website is very glitchy, but once I was on my way, things went very smoothly.
I live in a Delta hub (MInneapolis) and realized that I would have to travel on two separate tickets (MSP-FCO on Delta and FCO-PMO on ITA) since Delta and ITA are not partners. I am hoping this will change. If I was not planning to travel until next spring or summer, I think I would wait a bit before booking and see how things play out.
Anyway, since I needed separate tickets, I left a day early and flew only as far as Rome. I spent the night at a hotel near FCO (Hotel Tiber- highly recommended - affordable, clean, friendly English-speaking staff, 10-15 minute shuttle to airport, good restaurant, next to a fishing pier that juts out into the sea - a little local color!) The next day, I flew out on ITA.
I had a lot of trouble finding the English online check-in, so if anyone needs it, here -

The airport experience was easy, the plane was a re-purposed Alitalia plane, the flight was quick, checked luggage arrived with me in Palermo.
Thanks for the info Renee. I’m gonna wait. Hope you do a trip report as we are going to start of sicily adventure in Palermo next April.
We’re in the same boat. We are booked on the RS Sicily the end of April. We went ahead and booked the main flight from LAS - FCO on BA (thank goodness that flight resumes operation this week), but wanted to wait to see if ITA would get itself sorted before we book FCO to Palermo and Catania to Venice. It’s good to hear what other people are experiencing.
For the Minneapolis posters...
As noted above, ITA is indeed joining SkyTeam, so it should ultimately be aligned with Delta once ITA works out its IT kinks.
