A side note to this is that new equipment for ‘main’ TGV services will make room for older trains to be repurposed into the private operator, competitive marketplace across France and more widely in Europe. (With SNCF already a leader in the ‘private operator’ space, running or being invested in them.)

Or hopefully be used to expand their services instead of retiring older trains.
