'Anyone know the best way for a visitor to rent a bike (just for the day) in the Netherlands? 'Visiting Arnhem, Utrecht, Rotterdam. I'm aware you can do this for 5 Euro/day if you have an OV Chip Card. I won't have one of these.
Is there a way for visitors to rent an OV-fiets bike? What are the alternatives?

It's my understanding that one must have a OV-fiet season ticket connected their personal OV-chipkaart.

Tourists in general can’t use the OV Fiets system, because you need a personalized OVchipkaart and an account with NS to allow direct debit from a European bank account.
There are however plenty of other bike rental places in all the cities you plan to visit.
