The purser on our Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Paris removed my daughter's backpack before we departed because the passenger in front of us found it under her seat and thought it had been left from a previous flight. The purser said she would file a report and it could be flown to Paris. A week later, after my emailing, trying to call any number I can find (many not working), and even going back to CDG to talk to a human, I've gotten no where. We return to Frankfurt in 3 days and connect to Seattle with a 2 1/2 hour layover. Does anyone have any suggestions? The backpack contains the stuffed lamb toy my daughter has had her whole life. She thinks it's waiting at the airport. She'll be devastated if it's lost forever.
Thanks, Jackie
Sent you a message. Hope I can help with this.
Wow; a piece of under-the-seat luggage was...Under The Seat, and because the person whose seat it was under thought it was left from the previous flight (?!?) an attendant actually removed it From The Plane without asking you if it was yours??? Weird. And troubling. I'm sorry I have no suggestion for you; I hope Jo could offer some assistance. This is why ALL of my luggage (including purses) has my entire itinerary in them...Now I don't feel like it's overkill. I hope Lamby's extended vacation, visiting all of his animal friends, goes well and he gets home safe and sound!
Hope you get the backpack returned. I agree with Eileen's suggestion about keeping travel schedule information within each piece of luggage-may help or not but worth the effort. Good luck!
I suggest you engage the flight attendants on your flight to FRA first thing after boarding your flight. They may have the name of a manager or someone in customer service who will be willing to help you upon your arrival in FRA. I have found Lufthansa employees very compitent and I am sure you will find a resolution to the loss of your daughters backpack. It is sometimes just a matter of finding the right employee to carry through with the search.
Good Luck.
If you are unable to find the bag while in Europe or on the way home, don't give up. Keep calling the lost and found departments both for the airport and the airline itself. Amazingly, we have managed to get back a Kindle left on AirFrance and a GPS module left on a Hawaiian flight by doing this. No one could find them at the airport lost and found in real time, but persistence paid off and each item was eventually "found" and mailed to us at home. I think speaking with people is more effective than emailingyou can win a bit of sympathy that might encourage them to look harder. I mean, who wouldn't want to find a special lamby?
Now that sweater I dropped somewhere at SeaTac? Gone.
Lamb is found!!! With only 90 minutes to run around the Frankfurt airport between flights, I located lost and found. When I finally got to speak with a human, he found the backpack in 10 minutes. I actually broke down crying in front of him. The look on my daughter's face when she saw Lamb made every frustrating call and email worth it. Thank you to everyone who helped me with this, especially Jo who actually went to Frankfurt in the days before my arrival and talked to lost and found to give me advanced information. This group is so wonderful and I couldn't have done it without your support. Thanks again for everything! Take care, Jackie
That's one little girl who will grow up knowing there are good people in this world. Yeah for Jo and a big Baa, Baa to Lamb and family.
Way to go Jo! And glad to hear that lambie just had a minor misconnect on her flight.
What a nice story, or at least a nice ending! I had a similar situation with a lost blanket of my son's (at a hotel rather than a plane) so I know the anxiety you were dealing with. Well done! :) I think Jo is great too.
Talk about going above and beyond! That was really nice of you Jo!
Hooray for the return of Lamb! What a wonderful ending to the story--thanks for letting us know and recognizing Jo for her heroic efforts.
I love a happy ending! (And isn't Jo just wonderful?!)
So glad to hear you got your lamb back. I know from my own kids how attached they can be and I would have cried too if they would have lost their beloved "animals". They become a part of the family.
Isn't that just wonderful? I knew if anybody would move heaven and earth to reunite your daughter with Lamby, Jackie, Jo would be the lady. Well done, Jo... And well done to you, Jackie, for bringing the issue to us as soon as it occurred so action could be had. This is what being part of a caring community is all about. Wow, what a great ending ;-) <<= that's a great big smile !!!
Jo was the shepherd for this lost lamb. Turns out her favorite song is "Someone to Watch Over Me." Good job!
I'm so glad the lamb was found! Jo is a hero.
Great ending. Now if the same thing could happen with my niece's suitcase containing 6 bottles of Champagne that was "lost" last month by Air France on her way back from Paris.
