Need Train Help Please

Train schedules and rates seem to be a big headache for everyone not familiar with them. I plan of taking the train from Paris to Bayeaux. After 3 days in Normandy, I will return to Paris and then a train to Salzburg for several days, then to Hallstadt and finish with several days in Munich. That is 3 countries in 12 days. Ideas and suggestion on a railpass or buy as you go please.

Hi Tony! I just bought tickets for Bayeux for our trip this summer online at SNCF. We got a PREM fare of 22 euros each way from Paris to Caen. From Caen to Bayeux it's 5.50 euro each way. I couldn't buy that portion online in advance to print my tickets at home, so we'll just buy that when we arrive in Paris. So roundtrip it will be 55 euros each. As many of the previous posts have stated, probably best to price out the point to point prices of each leg of your journey and compare that to the different rail pass options to see which is better. We're doing point to point for all our train travel except the 3 days we're in Switzerland we got a Swiss Card. Hope this helps!
