I need a motel/hotel recommandation near the Seatac airport. A Sleep, Park, Fly. We will be gone 14 nights.
Thanks
Cheri: I pulled up this website giving several sleep, park & fly options. Truthfully, I don't know what hotel to recommend to you because I live about 7 minutes from the airport, so whenever I take a trip it is usually a quick hop on the bus/light rail. Check out the website. http://www.seattlesouthside.com/packages-and-promotions/category/5-park-stay-and-fly?li=16
Since this is primarily a European travel board, you might do better with the Fodor site - United States - Washington state.
Frank, the topic is Transportation and the question is appropriate. There are many of us on this board who live in or near Seattle and may have ideas that will help Cheri. I suggested that she ask the question because I think it may be less expensive, and far less stressful, for them to do a park and fly hotel instead of getting up at 3:00 am to drive from Portland to Seattle, and then paying for parking. I did this when we were going to Japan a few years ago and had a morning flight out of SeaTac. It worked out much better than paying for parking at one of the longterm lots. The place we stayed apparently has a one- week limit on parking, but there are many other hotel that may have longer limits. The people on the Seattle section of the Tripadvisor forums might be able to offer valuable advice too. They are really helpful. But I don't see how Fodors would help; they do not separate questions by state, and there are not as many Seattlites there. I am active on both forums and find Tripadvisor way better than Fodors for specific questions about Seattle. But this one works too, because this is RS home base and there are lots of us here.
Cheri, I can't recommend a hotel by Seatac, but I can tell you this is exactly what we do for our trips - we stay close to the San Francisco Airport. I pull up the park and fly website for the area and then look at the options. I try to find one that offers at least 14 days of free parking. We had been staying at the LaQuinta close to SFO - reasonably priced and 14 days of free parking when you stay one night - worked well. Perhaps they have one close to Seatac.
Here is a website with a long list of hotels that offer this: http://seattle.parksleepfly.com/
