We have a 1st class Eurail pass, but I'm not sure how to use it when reserving a night train. How would payment work through the DB Bahn website? Thanks!

A 1st class Eurail pass is only necessary on a night train for a deluxe compartment.
To book accommodations, find the CNL night train on the Bahn website, click "check availability", then click on "book only extra charge". You pay using a credit card and probably need to have the card with you as ID (make sure the name on the ticket and the name on the card agree exactly).
