need help getting around London

I will be staying in London at 129 Ebury Street, Belgravia and will be leaving our friends car at the car park in Heathrow airport. We are thinking we can leave some of our luggage in the car and only take what we need for the three days we will be in London. I purchased the London Pass with travel and think we can catch the tube from Heathrow going to our B & B. The closest station looks like Victoria. After our stay we will take another tube to Heathrow, go to the car park and get the rest of our luggage and take our flight home. We are doing a Home Exchange and the other couple will come in the nest day and retrieve their car at the car park. Victoria station is a few blocks from our B&B so I don't want to lug any more than I have to. Does this sound like its do-able? We have never taken a tube or bus as its not available where we live in the US. Can someone give me some advice? Is there a better plan cause I would be very interested in hearing it. Thanks so much.

The transport part sounds reasonable but I'd be worried about someone breaking into the car in the airport car park which has been known to happen. Don't leave anything valuable and don't make it obvious that there's luggage in the car.

Have you checked the car park prices?

I agree with Philip that it is risky to leave your luggage in the car for 3 days in a car park. There are left luggage facilities at all Heathrow terminals. Google for the one most convenient to the car park. If you don't want to wrestle with your baggage on the tube, you could arrange for a driver to pick you up and deliver you right to your hotel. According to the map, Sloane Square is closer to your B&B than is Victoria. Take the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow to Hammersmith, walk a few feet to the other side of the platform, and take the District Line to Sloane Square (one stop before Victoria).

Sloane Square might be closer, but it cannot be much. We usually stary at the Limetree which is 135 Ebury St. and always use Victoria tube station.

The Tube is fine for getting into London, if you are willing to haul luggage around Tube stations and on the street, and so long as you can find room for your bags on the Tube. Traversing most Tube stations involves one or more escalators and walking a surprising distance, often up and down stairs.

You're in Prince Frederick. Have you used the Metro in D.C.? The Tube is the same, only older.

If you want to avoid potential hassles, just decide to pay for a driver and a car to take you to and from the city. Probably cost 30-40 pounds each way. I like Just Airports. Check around here for other suggestions.

We're rethinking the Bed & Breakfast in London and instead are looking at one in Finchley. Its cheaper and has free parking, so no car park fees. Its The Glenlyn guest house. Any opinions? What type of tube ticket will I need to get into London? My London Pass with travel is only good for zone 1-6. I appreciate all the help you are giving!!

The Glenlyn Guest House website says that the closest Tube station is Woodside Park on the Northern Line. The station is in zone 4.
