Traveling in mid-August 2011, my friend and I are arriving on separate flights from the US. Who has a suggestion for a good, unmistakable meet-up location at Paris' Charles De Gaulle airport?
More information, please. At which terminal will each of you arrive? (If you don't know, tell us which airline each of you will be flying.) Who will arrive first? Do you plan to take the RER B into Paris or will you use some other means of getting there?
Oh, of course.. sorry. Here we go ~ My friend arrives first via US Air. From what I google, it looks like that arrives at Terminal 1.
About 30 minutes later (7:55 n a Sunday morning) I arrive on Delta, Terminal 2E. We'll want to sit and chat (not to mention jump in the air and hug) as soon as possible after arriving. I'm the more experienced traveler of the two of us... so a great option would be what is most convenient for her to find. Yes - we'll eventually be grabbing the RER.
Since your friend will arrive first, have her take the free CDGVAL driverless shuttle train from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, go upstairs, and wait for you in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel which is directly above the TGV/RER station. For a map of the CDGVAL route, go here.
Excellent suggestion ~ thanks Tim!
Opening this up for a another plan. While I love Tim's idea of meeting at the Sheridan and going down to catch the RER... our plans have changed, so that's no longer practical. Considering the luggage we'll be dragging around, we're NOT taking the RER, we're grabbing a cab to Gare St. Lazare. So - to review:
I'm arriving Terminal 2, my friend arrives Terminal 1. It's been over 10 years since I was at CDG, and can't recall what we go through upon arrival / luggage claim. I'm the more experienced traveler... What's a good meeting point for us to then catch a taxi into the city? Thanks!
Stick with what Tim said. His location is unique, one of you has to change terminals, your friend can figure out how to get to T2 easily enough, and there's a taxi rank just outside.
