Need Euro Pass Help!! Traveling Italy-France Aug. 25 - Sept. 8

Hello! My cousin and I are taking our long-awaited trip to Europe at the end of August. We will be flying into Rome and slowly making our way to France. Everything is good to go, but I'm still very confused with the rail pass---so much information!

We will be using the train 6 times, 2 of which need to be night trains, and one that will take us from Genoa to Paris. I'm soooo not good at this---could I get some advice?? Thanks you so much!

Trenitalia shows an overnight train Genoa-Paris, Monday 3 Sept for 115.50 Euro ($160 U-S), second class, including a bed in a three-person sleeper compartment. The 115.50 Euro deal is called the "Go WL" fare, and can only be booked up to 30 days before departure. It's a better deal than the regular price for 4-person "couchettes"...the cheaper "couchette" deals are already gone for that date. Check http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html and click on International. You have to register to book here, but the price savings can be substantial.

Let me just give you this information---the more info, the better advice!

Rome to Naples
Naples to Siena (possible night train?)
Siena to Florence
Florence to Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre to Santa Margherita Ligure
Santa Margherita Ligure to Paris (night train)

Ok! Any suggestions! All help is neeed!

Last time, I promise! I've added up (to the best of my knowledge), the prices for the trip if I were to buy on a day by day basis. For one person, I'm looking at a cost of about $360 (the biggest portion is the $210 ticket from Genoa to Paris---and that doesn't even include the sleeper car cost)...

HELP!

Would it be better to buy a Flexi pass or consecutive day pass???

Here's a train schedule from Genoa to Paris. It's not the night train but you can check for later trains. Florence to the CT is really easy. It's about a 2.5hr trip that goes through Pisa and La Spezia. Message back for more help.

Lindsay - call BETS at 800-441-2387 or 9413. Byron is great to talk to and can provide ideas, answer questions/concerns etc. They can set up reservation for night trains at a very, very low, budget friendly additional cost IF you decide to go that way. Their counsel is free. They were a huge help to me as all the train sites (along with setting up lodging, museum reservations, etc.) were just more than I wanted to deal with. Good luck - and enjoy the adventure.
