We were booked for a tour to Portugal in May, 2020 with air booked through Expedia on TAP (Air Portugal). In May, Expedia advised that the ticket refund ($2,000) for air would come from TAP directly. Have been waiting for months with no luck and asking Expedia to help. Credit card company advised they are unable to help due to time elapsed. Almost impossible to get through to TAP although I keep trying.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!! THANK YOU!
If you use the 'Search' box at the top of the page and enter "Tap air refunds", you will find the past discussions on the situation.
Your having used expedia adds a complicating layer
Good luck
Thank you! I also just filed a complaint with the U.S. Dept. of Transportation, a suggestion from a Facebook group of unsatisfied TAP customers. Never using TAP again.
cindyrandall- bigger lesson learned; only book airline tickets through the airline you are flying on. Book directly!
TAP is a good airline to fly but their customer service off the plane needs work.
tdw gets the award for understatement of the day, if not the week.
Oh, I agree fully that booking directly does not eliminate all issues or potential issues but it does remove the huge issue of the airline and travel agent (aka Expedia etc) pointing at each other while neither does anything. It is also much easier to file a credit card dispute (again finger pointing)..
