Napoli Centrale to Airport

Though we often opt for taxis, we found the Alibus was fine to get to Naples airport (and vice versa) as long as you don't mind spending a little extra time. No need to pre-purchase a ticket- pay 5 euros each to the driver. At the airport we waited about 30 minutes to get on a bus back to the train station (having taken a side trip to catania). The people who elected to purchase alibus tix in the airport were far behind us.

Food bonus- if you have extra time at Centrale, the food court has a branch of Florence's well'-known All'antico Vinaio sandwich shop- second floor.

I used Alibus from the airport to Napoli Centrale today. I had pre purchased my 5 euro ticket online. The bus itself did not say “Alibus” anywhere on it and that confused me at first, but I soon figured it out.

There was not dedicated luggage space on our particular bus and about 1/2 the riders stood for the trip. That said, it was a good value and took me where I wanted to go.

The tickets sold by the driver can be used only on the Airport bus and only in one direction. The tobacconist / newsstand at the Airport sells the "90 minutes" Alibus tickets: https://share.google/MV16lSNy4WKkJnFmJ

These tickets can be used also in Naples, on ANM buses and on the Metro line 1 that stops at Centrale station. Same if you tap a credit card. Quite obviously a time-based paper ticket must be time-stamped.

When I was a student, I've used the Alibus for years. Are you saying they changed the old blu Alibus flagpoles at the Airport? Or the iconic Mercedes buses were finally put out to pasture? Oh, well everything changes: sooner or later the Metro will arrive at the airport and ANM will happily quit running buses to the airport.
