Naples to Palermo - 1 hour layover at FCO enough?

We'll be in Sorrento before our RS tour of Sicily that starts in Palermo. ITA has a flight at a time we like but it isn't direct, it connects thru Rome. Is a 1 hour layover sufficient time?

There are other flights including a direct flight sold by Ryanair but it says operated by Malta Air so I'm a little nervous about code-sharing a flight and it looks like its their only flight of the delay so if it's cancelled we'd have problems.

The flight is Naples => Rome, then Rome => Palermo? For domestic flights, they should both arrive and depart at terminal 1. ITA would be responsible for putting you on the next flight if your arriving flight from Naples was delayed.

Yep, that's what they do; I guess they funnel people into Rome from various airports and then send them all out to Palermo
