In Oct., planning to take the overnight ferry from Naples to Palermo. I welcome any advice from those who have done this.
We did Palermo to Naples. about the same. On our ferry there were just 2 places to eat, one a cafeteria style. We waited in line, but people were crowding, so we went to the sit down restaurant. We had an inside cabin, it was less expensive. It was OK, as all we did was get on the boat about 6PM, get our luggage to the cabin, walked around a bit while the ferry took off, then went to eat. There will be a line to get on, they board the cars/trucks first, then start the people. No seasickness, but in the morning I had to get my land legs back a bit, I felt like I was rocking when I was walking! Just be patient while the ferry boards, and perhaps bring a snack with you. I think we had breakfast on the dock at Naples before we took the fast ferry to Sorrento. You might want to have a few things for breakfast if you get hungry early in the morning. It's chaos while the ship deboards (is that a word?) Everyone wants off at the same time.
