Not all three in the time available. I'd skip the Amalfi since it would take the most time and be the least rewarding. It's an all-day project just to drive it and make a few stops. Start with the earliest organized tour to Pompeii (no help here, I only know how to get there by driving and am anti-tour, but there's bound to be a way to do it, maybe even without a tour). You'll need to get back in time to see the archeology museum (I think it closes at eight and is not open on Tuesday - - check). It's easy to fill up any remaining time just wandering around the city (which is vibrant, friendly, and safe despite all the myths and old-wives' tales).

We did our own tour taking the train to Pompeii and Sorrento, from Sorrento a boat to Capri...From Capri took the hydo foil back to the port of Naples. Yes it was a full day and you have to watch your time.....but we plan to do it again! Just get all your directions in order and you will be fine

Jose We did this stop when we went last year. We took the tour to Pompeii, it was fantastic. I try to look for the longest tour in ports that can pack into the most I can. That way I feel I have seen or heard as much as I can as there isn't enough time on my own to see all that I want. And as far as some people say the excursions are too expensive you can do it cheaper on your own. I prefer to have it all done for me. I split it and go off on my own in some ports.
But I really enjoy the tours you learn so much.

In general, you can get to any place the ship offers as shore tours. Also, in general, if the ship doesn't offer tours of a particular area, such as the Amalfi Coast, it may be too far away to get back to ship in time for departure. You can bet that if the ship tours group could get there and back in time for departure, they would offer it. We've had cruise travelers on this website asking advice on going for Sorrento and Capri from the Naples cruise port.

Consider Herculaneum in lieu of Pompeii.

We used a private guide to do this in '08. Mariano Fiorentino at [email protected] There are several itineraries shown on the web site or he will tailor to suit your needs. Super guide and a real gentleman. It was, however, pricey. He is in demand so don't wait to contact him if you are interested.
