I was looking at the itinerary on Epedia for a Dublin flight and I though things look fine. Just yesterday I looked at the itinerary and noticed the middle initial was tacked onto out first names. Like mine was Barry A. Lastname on Expedia, but on Delta it was Barrya Lastname. On the trip Vouchers it is Barry A. Now comes the fun. My Drivers License and Passport have my full middle name on them. I have tried calling both Delta and Expedia but have a forever hold since people affected by the volcano are rightfully over whelming their lines. Do I have a problem? If so, please explain a solution.
Thanks. At the TAS site they say that the Middle Name MUST match from the Ticket and Passport, but they will be lax on this for awhile.
Thanks again.
Expedia did this to me on my ticket to Mexico City. Haven't flown yet, but I did call them and they spoke with the airline to verify the correct information was in the airline system (GDS). Funny thing is - it only happened to the first name on the itinerary, and not the others. Think it's just a glitch.
You are fine. Delta just merges the middle name onto the first name for reason's only they understand, but in 10 plus years of flying them this has never been a problem.
Thanks, all. Delta got back to me this morning and this was their explaination:
Thank you for contacting us through delta.com. We are sorry for the delay in responding to your message.
"The name in your reservation reads as Barrya Lastname and Helena Lastname. Due to spacing limitations on tickets, there are no spaces and the name runs together. This will not be a problem upon check-in.
Again, thank you for writing. We appreciate your selection of Delta and will always welcome the opportunity to be of service.
Sincerely,
