About 20 choices come up for Gorlitz. I've been using bahnhof sudausgang just because it sounded good. It shows it to be just over an hour from Dresden so it might be correct, but I don't know. Anybody out there know? Tim?
Do you mean "Gorlitz" or "Görlitz"? You can make ö by holding down the key while typing 0246 on the num pad, or you can probably use "Goerlitz".
Also, to help avoid confusion, use "Bahnhof" after the town name.
"Bahnhof Südausgang, Görlitz" is the south exit of the Bahnhof in Görlitz. It's probably a bus stop (as are most of the 20 destinations you got), but if you are arriving by train, the website just defaults to the Bahnhof, itself.
This time you get the right answer but it is still better to spell the name of the town correctly, "Goerlitz" (the two dots over the "o" do matter). Also, be specific, use "Goerlitz Bahnhof".
Just a bit more trivia.
The tracks in Görlitz run roughly east-west with the Bahnhof on the north side. There is also a south exit (Südausgang) from the station area, across the tracks from the Bahnhof. If there is a tunnel that connects the platforms, the Südausgang is probably at the south end of it, and Südausgang IS a stop for a shuttle bus that connects the station to the Busbahnhof in the center of town.
Thanks for all of the great info Lee. I tried the o trick, but I usually work from my laptop which doesn't have a key pad, and using the numbers in the top row didn't work...just got a bunch of o's while holding it down. I also add the word bahnhof after Gorlitz which worked perfectly. I'll have to remember that trick. I appreciate all of your help!
Also, spell it Goerlitz.
Wow, you're going to one of my favorite places. Görlitz is just so interesting. Be sure to buy some Polish pottery. Also, walk over to the Polish side of the river and look at the contrast. Happy travels!
