The operative word here is "as low as", because that is what the fares start at. I checked for a day in late June, a month from now, and the Savings Fare I could find was €59 each way.

The Savings fare trip is a non-stop bus connection from Prague to Nürnberg and an ICE from Nürnberg to Munich. It takes 5 hours.

The direct train connection from Prague to Munich via Wurth im Wald takes 6 hours. With a local Czech Rail ticket to Pilsen for €5,70 and a Bayern-Böhmen-Single ticket for €23 it will never cost more than €29 (€28,70).

So, if you don't mind a bus, and you can find a €29 fare, that sounds like the way to go, but if you can't get the €29 Savings Fare, you do have an option.

How much is this taxi? I don't know what advertisements you were looking at, but having googled "Munich to Prague taxi", I am getting fares of €200-300. Since you won't be there until September/October, you can get the savings fare from the Bahn and pay about €30 for the 5-hour train/bus combo. Personally, saving an hour and a half is not worth paying hundreds of extra Euros.

We purchased the Bayern Ticket for Munich to Prague for 28 euros. It was a nice train ride...took 6 hours and did not have to change trains. We had a compartment all to ourselves.
