Hello, Does anyone have an opinion about driving from Munich to Prague versus taking the train. Is there anything special to see to make it worth the drive. I have not compared the prices between each. Are two full days enough in Prague, to hit the highlights? Thanks,
Laura
IMHO the best option is to take a bus which is operated by Deutsche Bahn. It's a double decker with bathroom and snack and beverage service. It's nonstop from Main train station in Munich to Main train station in Prague. Unless you want to stop on the way and see countryside to rent a car would not be to your advantage. Besides usual cost you would have to pay for parking in Prague and you would have to buy a freeway sticker for the Czech Republic. If you have more time and decide to rent a car then Pilsen (Plzen) with its famous brewery is on your way. Not too much out of your way is a beautiful spa town Marienbad (Marianske Lazne). In two days you will be able to see something but probably not all highlights of Prague.
