Hi, I need to get from Munich, Germany to Geneva, Switzerland. Can anybody help with train schedule, cost, time, transfers, etc...? Thanks!
There are many trains departing daily to Geneve. There is one train that departs Munich HBF at 07:12 and arrives Geneve at 14:46 ...7 hours 34 minutes..cost 100,20 Euros.
Hi, Thanks a bunch for the info. What does it mean when the price is stated as "205,40"? Return and dep? I have no idea. Thanks again
Sounds like a round trip for that price.
The "205,40" is 205.40 euros. When writing currency amounts, Europe uses a comma where we would use a period and vice-versa. As JB noted, that definitely sounds like a round-trip price. When entering your journey into the bahn.de site, did you enter values for the "Return journey"?
Your cheapest way would be to take one of the EC trains from Munich to Zurich which offers €29 Europa-Spezial fares (regular fare is €61.40) Book well in advance at www.bahn.de. Click on "Internat. Guests" to view the site in English. Then buy a Zurich-Vienna ticket for 77 CHF (€47).
For example, Leave Munich at 07:12 and arrive in Zurich at 11:44. Leave Zurich at 12:04 and arrive in Geneva at 14:46. Buy the Zurich-Geneva ticket in Munich.
