Is anyone familiar with the Munich station? I will have 15 minutes to change trains from track 11 to 23. Are they on the same level? Easy to transfer with only 15 min? Thanks.
All tracks are on the same level and the transfer from one track to the other should be easy to do, provided your train arrives on time.
Thanks! Good to know.
Cut and paste this link to the plan of the Munich station https://cms-bahnhof.noncd-web.db.de/sites/default/files/pdf/muenchenplandb_vst_weba4.pdf Munich is a dead end station, with the trains coming in and going out at the same end. All the platforms are connected by one broad area in front of the trains. Walk to the end of the platform for track 11 and across to the end of the platform for track 23.
Gloria, Click on the map in the centre of this website, and you'll see the arrangement of the tracks at München Hbf: www.railteam.eu/en/for-your-journey/in-the-station/munchen-hauptbahnhof/ It provides a clear view of the details, and 15 minutes should be quite adequate (as long as you don't stop for coffee). Happy travels!
Thanks! Very helpful.
Should be no problem. There is a very large area at the front of the platforms where people can change from train to train so not as much people congestion as in some train stations. 15 minutes should be fine.
I think 15 minutes will be plenty of time, but don't waste it. When you know you are getting to the station, gather your belonging and move to the end of the car, to be near the door (this isn't a plane, you don't have to remain seated until the train stops). When the train stops, get off and go in the direction the train was moving to the end of the platform. Track 23 will be to the left of the end of the platform. There are big numbers showing the platform number. Go across the end of the tracks until you get to number 23, then turn down the platform and get on the train.
